La Maison Neuve is a 300 year old
granite farmhouse. It was originally a 'magnanerie', supplying the
artisinal silk-stocking industry of the Cevennes. For many years
it was the house in which we lived, so it really is a home-from-home
with excellent kitchen and modern features. It has a large, sunny
10 x 5 metre swimming pool. La Porche is a rustic farm building which has been converted into a well-equipped modern house, while retaining the character of its stone walls and rough timber beams. It is next to La Maison Neuve but is completely private with a separate entrance and driveway. It has its own 8 x 3metre swimming pool and terrace. Both houses have broadband Wi-Fi. The properties are 69km north-west of Montpellier, and 5km from the market town of Le Vigan. The village of Bréau is a brisk 10 minute walk from our place, and has a bakery.
